We've worked on everything from single-storey project homes through to 600m² architect-designed view-block builds. Same crew, same standard. Most Gold Coast residential house excavations take 1–5 days depending on block size, fall, and what's in the ground.

Block size and slope drive timeline. A flat 600m² lot in sandy soil is typically a one-day job. A standard suburban lot with mild slope on clay is 1.5–2 days. A steep block requiring deep cut and retaining benches is 3–5 days. Acreage cuts (1,000m² pads or larger) commonly run 3–7 days.

Rock is the biggest unknown on Gold Coast hinterland blocks. A geotech report or trial dig before quoting helps massively — without one, expect a rate-based quote with rock as a clear variation. Coastal blocks almost never hit rock. Hinterland blocks (Tallai, Mudgeeraba, Bonogin) often do.

Wet weather is the silent killer of house excavation timelines. Clay sites become impassable after heavy rain, and engineers won't accept a slab pour on saturated clay. We aim to time the cut for a dry weather window where possible, and we're upfront with builders about weather risk on the schedule.

Spoil disposal needs planning. If we can reuse spoil on site we save you money. If we can't, every cubic metre is a tipper load to a recycling depot. Big cuts can mean 30+ truck movements — we factor this into the quote and confirm spoil destination upfront.

Access and overhead constraints often surprise people. Tight estate streets, low overhead lines, and body-corp access rules can all stretch the timeline by half a day or more. We check all of these at the site visit so the quote and timeline are realistic.
