A clean, accurate site cut is the difference between a smooth build and a week of stuffing around. We cut to your engineer's spec, hit the levels, and hand over a pad that's ready for the next trade.

From small shed pads through to bulk subdivision cuts, our excavators and graders work to GPS or string-line set-out depending on the job size. Standard tolerance is ±20mm to design level; with GPS-guided gear we hit ±10mm.

Site cut cost on the Gold Coast in 2026 typically runs $1,800–$9,500 for residential, depending on volume, fall, fill required, and rock. Flat sandy blocks at 600m² come in at the low end. Sloping hinterland blocks needing benching and retaining sit at the high end. Acreage pads (1,000m²+) regularly land $7,000–$18,000+.

What drives the cost: cut volume (m³ excavated), spoil destination (on-site reuse vs cart-away), fill required (imported road base or RCA at trade rates), and rock (separate line item if encountered). We quote each of these clearly on the same page so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

Process matters as much as price. We strip topsoil first (usually 100–200mm, stockpiled or carted), bulk cut to design depth, trim and grade to slab tolerance, compact (plate or roller depending on size), then site clean and hand over. Compaction certificates require an independent NATA-accredited test house — we coordinate with your geotech if required.

What slows a site cut: hitting rock (biggest unknown — geotech helps), wet weather (clay sites become impassable), spoil disposal logistics (cart-away adds tipper movements), and access constraints (tight estate streets, low overhead lines, body-corp access rules). We flag all of these at the site visit.

Combine work to save money: while the machine's on site, knock off footings, drainage trenches, and retaining wall benches in the same mobilisation. It's much cheaper than mobilising the gear back twice. We talk through these options at the site visit.
