How much crusher dust or road base do I need?

Use our materials calculator above — enter the length, width, and depth of the area in millimetres, and we'll work out the volume, weight, and approximate cost. As a rule of thumb: a typical residential driveway base layer is 100–150mm deep, and 1m³ of compacted crusher dust or recycled concrete weighs roughly 1.5 tonnes.

What's the difference between RC 10mm, RC 20mm and RCA 20–40mm?

All three are recycled concrete aggregate at different particle sizes. RC 10mm is best for fine drainage, soakwell surrounds and finishing layers. RC 20mm is the go-to road base for driveways and general fill — it compacts well and locks together. RCA 20–40mm is a coarser, free-draining product ideal for backfill behind retaining walls and primary drainage layers.

Is recycled concrete aggregate as good as quarry rock?

For the vast majority of residential and commercial applications — driveway base, fill, drainage, sub-base under slabs — recycled concrete aggregate performs identically to virgin quarry product, at a lower price and a much lower carbon footprint. For heavy civil works requiring specific virgin quarry specs, we can source those too — just let us know what your engineer has called for.

Can I pick up materials, or is it delivery only?

We're set up for delivery via tipper truck — that's the most efficient way to get bulk material on site. For small quantities (under 1m³) you may be better off at a local supplies yard. Call us to discuss your project and we'll point you in the right direction.

Do you supply turf or topsoil?

Yes — alongside the materials listed above, we also supply and lay turf (Sir Walter, Kikuyu, Couch) and screened topsoil. These aren't on our standard pricing list because they're project-specific. Send us your address and quantity and we'll quote it.

How quickly can you deliver?

For most Gold Coast suburbs we can have a tipper on site within 1–3 business days. For urgent jobs, call us — we'll do everything we can to fit you in.
