The whole family on the tools
As a family-owned business, everyone gets involved on this one:
- Jack on the 1.7-tonne excavator
- John on the 8.5-tonne excavator
- Chelsey on the compaction roller, making sure every 100mm layer is compacted to geotechnical specifications
Tested and passed — six times over spec
Today we also had the geotechnical engineer back on site to test the middle layer of the pad — and we passed with flying colours.
Even better, our compaction result came back at six times higher than the minimum requirement, giving Sikander an exceptionally solid foundation to build on. That's exactly what we aim for: doing the job right the first time — not just meeting the standard, but exceeding it.
A pad that's compacted properly — and tested to prove it — won't settle or move once the slab and house go on top. Building it up in thin layers and having each one signed off is how you avoid cracked slabs and expensive problems down the track.
