Hydraulic rock breaking is charged at an hourly rate that reflects the slower work and the wear on the gear. Smaller machines start around $160/hr; the larger 5T + heavy breaker package runs $200–$220/hr. We always estimate likely hours upfront so you can budget — and we'll stop and talk before blowing past the estimate.
Local rock note: Ripley sits on a mix of reactive clay and weathered sandstone, with some basalt-derived ground on the elevated edges. Most estate lots dig predictably to slab tolerance; elevated lots can have occasional shallow rock.
