On-site repair to the bucket of an 80-tonne excavator working at the Bromelton quarry — the mobile welding rig brought out to the machine to get it back into production.

The Challenge

An 80-tonne excavator is a big, expensive machine to have sitting idle — every hour it's down at a quarry is production lost. Floating a machine that size off site for a workshop repair isn't practical, so the bucket had to be repaired in place, out at the quarry, and turned around fast.
